Committee Announces Schedule of Upcoming Hearings


Washington, May 23, 2012 - Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus announced the Committee’s schedule of upcoming hearings.

May 31:
The Financial Services Committee will mark up H.R. 1588, the Consumer Rental Purchase Agreement Act, and H.R. 3128.  The markup will take place at 10 a.m. in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

June 1:
The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will hold a hearing on cyber threats to capital markets and corporate accounts.  The hearing will take place at 9:30 a.m. in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

June 6:
The Financial Services Committee will examine H.R. 4624, the Investment Adviser Oversight Act of 2012, at a hearing that begins at 10 a.m. in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

At 2 p.m., the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will hold a hearing on CARD Act implementation in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

June 7:
The Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 10 a.m. on multi-family housing programs in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will examine protection for U.S. investors at a 2 p.m. hearing in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

The Committee’s schedule remains tentative and will depend upon witness availability and other facts that may require changes.  Therefore, each meeting will become final only when the official notice is distributed.  Additional information about each hearing, as well as a list of witnesses, will be released at later dates.
