Media Advisory: Committee Hearing Schedule for the Week of April 18

WASHINGTON- Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s schedule for the week of April 18:

Tuesday, April 19 at 10:00 A.M.The Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing will hold a hearing entitled “Preventing Cultural Genocide: Countering the Plunder and Sale of Priceless Cultural Antiquities by ISIS.” ISIS has derived significant illicit revenues from the plunder of cultural sites and artifacts in Syria and Iraq.  The hearing will examine the methods of terrorist groups to fund criminal activity using proceeds from the sale of antiquities and other cultural artifacts stolen from museums, private collections and archaeological sites

Thursday, April 21 at 9:15 A.M.The Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises will hold a hearing to examine the mission, operation and activities of certain divisions and offices of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including the Office of Credit Ratings.

All committee activity will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office building. Additional information, including a live video of the proceedings, will be available on the Committee’s website.
