Time Change for Release of Fed Chairman’s Testimony

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s testimony and the semi-annual Monetary Policy Report he will deliver to the House Financial Services Committee on Wednesday, July 17 will be released to the public at 8:30 a.m. EDT that day. This is a change from earlier practice when the testimony and report were not released until the scheduled start of the hearing.

The change in timing is done at the request of the Financial Services Committee and in consultation with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. This change will allow members of the Financial Services Committee the opportunity to review the testimony and the report before the hearing begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
