Chairman Hensarling Announced September Hearing Schedule

Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s hearing schedule for the month of September. September 10 at 10 a.m. – The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing on reducing waste, fraud and abuse in housing programs and examine recommendations made by the inspector general of the Department of Housing and Urban Development. September 11 at 2 p.m. – The Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee will hold a hearing on the history of the Federal Reserve. September 12 at 9 a.m. – The Financial Services Committee will hear from Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Richard Cordray during a hearing on the CFPB’s Semi-Annual Report. The director of the CFPB is required by law to appear before the committee on a semi-annual basis to deliver a report on the CFPB. September 18 at 10 a.m. – The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will hold a hearing on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed rules governing money market mutual funds. September 19 at 10 a.m. – The Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing on the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, which is currently set to expire on December 31, 2014. The committee’s schedule is tentative and will depend upon witness availability and other factors that may require changes. Therefore, each meeting will become final only when the hearing notice is distributed. Hearing notices and a list of witnesses for each hearing can be found online at republicans-financialservices.house.gov. All hearings will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
