Media Advisory: Committee Hearing Schedule for the Week of February 22


Washington, Feb 19 -

WASHINGTON-Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s hearing schedule for the week of February 22:

Wednesday, February 24 at 10:00 A.M.The Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises will hold a hearing entitled “The Impact of the Dodd-Frank Act and Basel III on the Fixed Income Market and Securitizations.” The hearing will include testimony from a panel of witnesses who will comment on the consequences of the Dodd-Frank Act, including the Volcker Rule, and risk retention requirements.

Thursday, February 25 at 10:00 A.M.-The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing to examine Puerto’s Rico’s debt crisis and its impact on the bond market. This oversight hearing will examine matters within the Committee’s jurisdiction relating to securities and credit.

Thursday, February 25 at 2:00 P.M.-The Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance will hold a hearing on the various international regulatory standards being considered by the G-20, the Financial Stability Board, the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, and other international supervisory authorities. In addition, the hearing will review draft legislation that would codify a stronger role for Congress to conduct oversight of international conversations focused on insurance standards.

All hearings will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Additional information, including a list of witnesses and live video of each hearing will be available on the Committee’s website.
