Hensarling Statement on Royce Retirement

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) issued the following statement today on the retirement of Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA).

“For more than 25 years, Ed Royce has been a fearless advocate for freer markets and smaller government.  He was far ahead of the curve in championing GSE reform before Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac broke our economy and for fixing our failing federal flood insurance system, reforms which the Financial Services Committee continues to pursue today.  He has also been a tireless leader on foreign policy as chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. His leadership and conservative credentials will be sorely missed.”
