McHenry Statement on the Senate Vote Acquitting President Trump

Washington, Feb 5 -

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10), Republican Leader of the House Financial Services Committee, released the following statement on the Senate vote acquitting President Donald J. Trump on the two articles of impeachment passed by the House:

"The 2016 election outcome was a shock to many, but none more so than Democrats in Washington. Since then, they’ve been single-minded in their obsession with President Trump. Over the last three years, they have opposed the President with every word and every action.

"The endless investigations, the one-sided impeachment hearings, and even the State of
the Union last night, all highlight the blinding hatred Washington Democrats have for President Trump. Today, we’ve seen the culmination of this blinding hatred: the President’s acquittal after a rushed and partisan impeachment process.

"President Trump came to Washington as a disruptor—that is the reason the American people supported him in 2016. As the President outlined last night, it is working."
