McHenry: Chairman Clayton Has Worked Tirelessly on Behalf of Main Street Investors
Washington, Nov 16 -
Today, the Republican leader of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement after Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Jay Clayton announced his departure from the Commission at the end of the year: “Chairman Clayton has worked tirelessly on behalf of Main Street investors throughout his time at the SEC. As Chairman, Jay has expertly led efforts to strengthen our capital markets, provide regulatory clarity, and expand investment opportunities to support savers and small businesses. Under his leadership, the SEC has played a key role in the whole-of-government response to COVID-19, and I thank him for his service to ensure our nation’s recovery and long-term success.” ###
