McHenry Applauds SEC Action on Custody of Digital Asset Securities by Broker-Dealers

Today, the Republican leader of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement in response to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) statement and request for comment regarding the custody of digital asset securities by broker-dealers: 

“I am pleased the SEC has taken meaningful action today to support innovation in the digital securities market. Digital asset custody is a major outstanding regulatory issue, and I appreciate that the SEC is taking steps to allow for further market developments. I look forward to continuing to work with the Commission and market participants to allow further growth in this space.”
