McHenry Raises Concerns with Treasury’s New Far-Left Advisory Committee
Commits to getting answers on purpose of committee, appointment of activist Vice Chair
Washington, Oct 5 -
Today, the top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement on the Treasury Department’s newly-announced Advisory Committee on Racial Equity and raises concerns with recent reports regarding Vice Chair: “At a time when millions of American families are struggling to make ends meet, Secretary Yellen and Biden’s Treasury Department are virtue signaling instead of working to fix the economic mess they created. The Biden Administration is driving our economy off a cliff by continuing to pursue their progressive agenda and elevating the most radical voices on the left, like Ms. Wong. While Democrats pander to their far-left base, House Republicans are offering real solutions to rein in reckless spending, bring our supply chains closer to home, and unleash American energy. Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee are deeply concerned about the makeup and goals of this so-called ‘advisory committee’ and will get the answers from the Treasury Department that the American people deserve.” ###
