Bachus Announces Financial Services Committee Republican Conferees to Negotiate Financial Regulatory Reform Legislation

WASHINGTON, Jun 9 -

- Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Spencer Bachus joined five fellow committee Members to serve as the House Republican conferees appointed to deliberate the House and Senate passed financial regulatory reform bills, and called on Democrats to ensure all negotiations occur in the open.

"This upcoming conference will provide an opportunity to highlight the differences between our comprehensive legislation and the Democrats' ad hoc approach to financial regulatory reform," Bachus said.  "For that to happen, House Republicans will demand that Democrat leadership ensure an open, honest debate in front of the American people, not behind their closed doors."

In addition to Bachus, the House Republican conferees from the Financial Services Committee include:

Rep. Judy Biggert, IL
Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations

Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, WV
Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity
