McHenry Statement on Passage of Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024

Washington, March 6, 2024 -

Today, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.

“I applaud Speaker Johnson for his work to bring this deal together,” said Chairman McHenry. “Leaders get the best results they can with the tools at their disposal. That’s exactly what Speaker Johnson did here. The bipartisan deal preserves the historic spending cuts House Republicans secured in the Fiscal Responsibility Act. This bipartisan spending package also includes two key provisions out of the Financial Services Committee to ensure foreign purchases of U.S. farmland are appropriately scrutinized. These provisions were originally introduced by Congressmen Lucas and Luetkemeyer as standalone bills and received unanimous support in Committee last September. I was proud to support this bill on the House Floor.”
