Ranking Member Bachus announced today that Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins will join Republicans on the Financial Services Committee for the 111th Congress.

Ranking Member Bachus said, "Lynn's extensive background on financial services issues as a certified public account makes her an exceptional addition to the Financial Services Committee. Her experience in the private sector gives her first hand knowledge and valuable insights into the accounting industry that will allow her to effectively contribute ideas as we begin to work to modernize the financial services regulatory system. As the Committee continues to work on addressing the unprecedented financial crisis I look forward to working with her to ensure the taxpayers are protected."

Before beginning her public service career, Congresswoman Jenkins practiced public accounting. Jenkins has served in both the House and Senate of the Kansas Legislature. She was elected the State Treasurer of Kansas in 2002.
