Chairman Bachus Announces Committee Schedule
Washington,
March 18, 2011 -
Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus today announced the planned schedule for the month of April.
Chairman Bachus said: "We continue to focus on solutions that protect taxpayers, encourage economic activity, and promote job creation in the private sector. In April, the Committee will begin consideration of bills to reform regulation of the housing finance system, including legislation to improve the operation of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA. The importance of the Housing sector not only to individual American families, but to the overall economy makes it imperative that we address this issue. The Committee will also continue its work to evaluate government programs and policies to ensure taxpayer dollars are not being wasted."
This is a tentative schedule and will depend on witness availability and other factors that may require changes. Therefore, each meeting will become final only when the official notice is distributed. Hearing witnesses will be announced at later dates.
Unless otherwise noted, all hearings will take place in 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.
