Updated Committee Schedule For First Two Weeks In October


Washington, September 28, 2011 - The Financial Services Committee released an updated schedule of hearings and mark ups for the first half of October.

The Committee schedule is tentative and will depend upon witness availability and other factors that may require changes.  Therefore, each meeting will become final only when the official notice is distributed.  Hearing witnesses will be announced at later dates.

All hearings will take place in room 2128 Rayburn unless otherwise noted.

Tuesday, October 4:
The Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 10 a.m. on transparency at the Federal Reserve.

The International Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee will hold a legislative hearing to review the Administration's request for authorization of general capital increases for multilateral development banks at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, October 5:
The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will mark up legislative proposals to promote small business capital formation and job creation. The mark up will begin at 10 a.m.

Thursday, October 6:
The Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 9:30 a.m. to examine the Obama Administration’s responses to the housing finance crisis.

The Full Committee will receive the first annual report from the Financial Stability Oversight Council on the FSOC’s activities and emerging threats to financial stability.  The FSOC Chairperson, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, will deliver the report. The hearing will begin at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, October 12:
The International Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee will mark up legislation to reauthorize the multi-lateral development banks at 10 a.m.  

At 1 p.m. in room 2220 Rayburn, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing on the Federal Home Loan Banks.

The Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will meet for a legislative hearing on credit union member business lending at 2 p.m.

Thursday, October 13:
The International Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 10 a.m. to examine the relationship between the health of the U.S. housing finance system and global financial stability.

The Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 2 p.m. on the Housing Choice Voucher Program.

Friday, October 14:
The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will hold a hearing at 9 a.m. to review proposals that amend provisions contained in the derivatives title of the Dodd-Frank Act.
