Committee Announces Schedule for Week of October 24


Washington, October 19, 2011 - The Financial Services Committee today released its planned schedule for the week of October 24.

Witnesses for each hearing will be announced at later dates. All hearings will take place in room 2128 Rayburn.

Tuesday, October 25:
The International Monetary Policy and Trade Subcommittee will hold a hearing on the Eurozone crisis and implications for the United States at 10 a.m.

The Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity Subcommittee will review the regulation of the insurance industry and its effect on jobs during a hearing at 2 p.m. 

Wednesday, October 26:
At 10 a.m., the Full Committee will mark up bills that promote job creation by reducing the regulatory burdens on small business capital formation.

Thursday, October 27:
The Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will hold a hearing to review the impact a proposed IRS regulation could have on U.S. financial institutions.  The proposed regulation would require financial institutions to report annually to the IRS the amount of interest earned by nonresident aliens on their U.S. bank deposits. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m.
