FSC Committee Schedule for Week of April 28


Washington, April 24, 2014 -

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling today announced the committee’s hearing schedule for the week of April 28.

Tuesday, April 29 at 10 A.M. - The Financial Services Committee will hold an oversight hearing with Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Mary Jo White to examine the SEC’s rulemaking agenda, operations and $1.7 billion budget request. Committee members are also expected to discuss financial commitments made for technology projects from the SEC’s $100 million Reserve Fund and the SEC’s plans to complete work on the bipartisan JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act and its implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act.

Wednesday, April 30 at 10 A.M. -  In conjunction with National Financial Literacy Month, the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will hold a hearing to discuss the importance of financial literacy for consumers. The subcommittee will also examine how mobile technology plays a role in improving financial literacy efforts.

Thursday, May 1 at 9:30 A.M. - The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will hold a hearing to examine legislative proposals to enhance capital formation for small and emerging growth companies.

The Committee’s schedule is tentative and will depend upon witness availability and other factors that may require changes. Therefore, each meeting will become final only when the hearing notice is distributed. Hearing notices and a list of witnesses for each hearing can be found online at republicans-financialservices.house.gov.

All hearings will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building and will be live streamed on the committee’s website.
