Financial Services Committee Schedule for the Week of April 20
Terrorism Financing Task Force Holds First Hearing on Wednesday; Subcommittee Continues Review of Regulatory Burdens Impacting Consumers

WASHINGTON, April 21, 2015 - Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s hearing schedule for this week.

Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00 A.M.- The Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing will hold its first hearing:  “A Survey of Global Terrorism and Terrorist Financing.”   

The Task Force, created earlier this year by the committee, is working on improving U.S. efforts to choke off terrorist financing.

The hearing will take place in room HVC-210 of the Capitol Visitor Center.

Witnesses invited to appear at this hearing are:

Juan C. Zarate, Senior Adviser, Center for Strategic and International Studies; Chairman and Senior Counselor, Center on Sanctions and Illicit Finance at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies
Dr. Jonathan Schanzer, Vice President for Research, Foundation for Defense of Democracies
Seth G. Jones, Director, International Security and Defense Policy Center, RAND Corporation

Thursday, April 23 at 9:15 A.M.- The Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will continue its look at the regulatory burdens on community financial institutions and how those burdens impact consumers.  This week’s hearing will examine regulatory burdens from the regulators’ perspective.
