Committee Releases Hearing Schedule for Week of Oct. 19


 

Washington, October 15, 2015 -

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s tentative hearing schedule for the week of Oct. 19. 

Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. – The Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee will discuss legislative proposals to reduce regulatory burdens on Main Street job creators.

Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. – The Housing and Insurance Subcommittee will meet to review reforms that create housing opportunity, including H.R. 3700, the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2015 introduced by Subcommittee Chairman Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO). 

Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. – The Financial Services Committee will explore “The Future of Housing in America:  50 Years of HUD and Its Impact on Federal Housing Policy” at a hearing to examine whether legislative changes are needed to better ensure housing affordability and promote self-reliance and upward economic mobility.

Oct. 23 at 9:15 a.m. – The Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will hold an oversight hearing on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management.  David Grim, Director of the Division of Investment Management, will be the sole witness.

All hearings will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building.  The Committee’s schedule remains tentative and will become final only when the official notice for each hearing is distributed.  Additional information about hearings and witnesses will be made available on the Committee’s website.
