Committee Releases Hearing Schedule for Week of November 2


 

Washington, October 30, 2015 -

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) today announced the committee’s tentative hearing schedule for the week of November 2nd. 

November 3rd at 10 a.m. – A full committee markup of bring much-needed accountability, transparency, and reform to some of the Dodd-Frank Act’s most harmful provisions. Small business regulatory relief and capital formation legislation will also be included. A list of the 10 bills that will be marked up can be found here.

November 4th at 10 a.m. – A full committee hearing with Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen to examine the Fed’s actions and plans for bank regulation and supervision.  Chair Yellen’s testimony is prompted because of President Obama’s failure to fulfill a requirement of the Dodd-Frank Act and appoint a Vice Chairman for Supervision at the Federal Reserve.

November 6th at 12:00 p.m. – The Housing and Insurance Subcommittee will hold a field hearing in New Orleans, Louisiana to assess the local, state, and federal government’s ongoing response to the housing needs of residents affected by Hurricane Katrina. The field hearing will take place at the Port of New Orleans Administration Building.

The full committee hearing and markup will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building.  The Committee’s schedule remains tentative and will become final only when the official notice for each hearing is distributed.  Additional information about hearings and witnesses will be made available on the Committee’s website.
