MEDIA ADVISORY: Committee Announces September FHFA Oversight Hearing

WASHINGTON – House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chairman Ann Wagner (R-MO) announced today that the Committee plans to hold a hearing no later than Thursday, September 27, 2018 as a part of its ongoing investigations into various allegations of waste, fraud and abuse at the Federal Housing Finance Administration (FHFA) and the Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Fannie Mae Chief Executive Officer Timothy Mayopoulos and FHFA Director Mel Watt will be invited to testify.
The hearing will take place in Room 2128 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Additional information, including a live video of the proceedings, will be available on the Committee’s website.
