McHenry: This is a political stunt

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10), Republican leader of the House Financial Services Committee, delivered remarks from the House Floor in opposition to Democratic attempts to pass a Senate Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) appropriations bill, stripped of House priorities, in a misguided effort to end the partial government shutdown without addressing border security funding.
Congressman McHenry stated these bills are “dead on arrival” as they will not be taken up by the Senate or signed into law by the President, falling short of accomplishing Republican’s “number one goal, which is reopening the government and addressing the critical border security needs of our country.”
