McHenry Announces New Republican Staff Director for Financial Services Committee

Washington, April 14, 2021 -

Today, the top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), named Matt Hoffmann as the new staff director for Financial Services Committee Republicans:

I’m excited to welcome Matt as our new Republican staff director. He is a proven leader, strategic thinker and coalition builder who brings a wealth of experience to our committee. On both sides of the hill, in leadership and on committees, Matt was at the forefront of major legislative achievements. As policy director at the Senate Finance Committee and a top policy advisor to former Speaker Paul Ryan, Matt has a demonstrated track record of success in the areas most important to a committee's operation: policy development, member communication, and teamwork. He is a strong addition who will help build upon all that our staff has accomplished over the last two years. I am confident he will be a problem solver, skillful negotiator, and thoughtful leader as Committee Republicans continue our work providing opportunities and solutions for everyday Americans.”

Matt previously served as Policy Director at the Senate Finance Committee and for former Speaker Paul Ryan on the House Budget Committee, Ways and Means Committee, and in the Speaker’s office. Most recently, he worked at the BGR Group as a principal and a member of the firm’s health care practice, where he co-led the Market Access and Reimbursement team. He also played a key role in BGR’s tax and trade activities.
