Financial Services Committee Requests Public Feedback on Making Community Banking Great Again Principles

Following the Committee’s recent hearing examining the current landscape of community banking in the United States, the House Financial Services Committee is requesting feedback from the public on its “Make Community Banking Great Again” principles and the slate of bills the Committee considered during the hearing.
Interested members of the public may send their comments by March 31, 2025, to: fsc119@mail.house.gov.
During the hearing, the Committee examined the following bills:
- H.R. 940, Fair Audits and Inspections for Regulators (FAIR) Exams Act, sponsored by Chairman French Hill (AR-02)
- H.R 941, the Small Lenders Exempt from New Data Excessive Reporting (LENDER) Act, sponsored by Chairman Hill
- H.R. 478, Promoting New Bank Formation Act, sponsored by Rep. Andy Barr (KY-06)
- H.R. 976, the 1071 Repeal to Protect Small Business Lending Act, sponsored by Rep. Roger Williams (TX-25)
