On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, House Committee on Financial Services Chairman French Hill (R-AR) and a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives met with Paraguay’s Minister of Economy and Finance Carlos Fernandez Valdovinos and Senior Representatives from the Central Bank of Paraguay.

During their meetings, the delegation also discussed key segments in Paraguay’s economy and current regulatory opportunities in its capital markets, banking, payments, and insurance sectors, and opportunities for Paraguay as it relates to the emerging digital asset ecosystem in Latin America.

Following the meetings, Chairman Hill said, “For years, Paraguay has demonstrated its financial stability and conservative approach to macroeconomic policy. I was pleased to learn about our shared economic development and security goals.”

  • Rep. Janelle Bynum (D-OR)
  • Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH)
