Chairman Hill and Bipartisan Delegation Meet with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte

On Friday, August 1, 2025, House Committee on Financial Services Chairman French Hill (R-AR) led a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives to meet with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, Central Reserve Bank of Peru Chairman Julio Velarde, Minister of Economy and Finance Raúl Pérez-Reyes, Prime Minister Eduardo Arana Ysa, Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer, and Members of Peru’s Congress, including the recently elected President of the Peruvian Congress, Congressman José Jerí. 

During the meetings, as our two nations celebrate our bicentennial of diplomatic relations, the delegation emphasized the United States and Peru’s shared commitment to democratic values and discussed new opportunities to strengthen our relationship. The delegation also talked about the importance of investment in Peru, especially in critical infrastructure, and our mutual shared focus on combating transnational crime and illicit finance through our nations’ partnership. 

Following the meetings, Chairman Hill said, “I was pleased to meet with President Boluarte and other key stakeholders in Peru to discuss the relationship between our nations. Peru is a strong partner in promoting economic growth, protecting democracy, and ensuring regional stability. Our bipartisan meetings reinforced the importance of expanding financial cooperation between our two countries. I look forward to working together on the future of economic soundness.”
