Chairman Bachus Appoints Fincher To Financial Institutions And Oversight Subcommittees

Washington, May 12, 2011 -

WASHINGTON:  Financial Services Committee Chairman Spencer Bachus welcomed Rep. Stephen Fincher (TN) to the Committee today. During the Full Committee mark up, Chairman Bachus offered a resolution appointing Rep. Fincher to the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee, and the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.  Rep. Fincher is filling the vacancy left by Rep. Kenny Marchant, who was recently appointed to the House Ways and Means Committee.

Chairman Spencer Bachus said, “As a small business owner, Congressman Fincher has real world business experience that will be an asset to the Committee. He understands there are government barriers that are hindering a real economic recovery. The Financial Services Committee is at the forefront of promoting the right policies that foster growth and job creation, and Congressman Fincher will provide invaluable input on solutions to get Americans back to work.”

Rep. Fincher said, “It is an honor to be selected to join such a prominent Committee in the House of Representatives. I am confident that my real world business experience will bring a strong frame-of-reference to the House Committee on Financial Services and assist the Committee in developing good public policy.  Serving this Committee provides the opportunity to ensure rural areas are provided a voice as we move forward in our efforts to promote job creation and economic growth.  I look forward to serving this Committee and my district with integrity and honesty as we work to move our economy back in the right direction.”

Additionally, Chairman Bachus appointed Rep. Michael Grimm (NY) to the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee and Rep. Robert Dold (IL) to the Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee.
